The 1.0–5.0 mm 1060 aluminum coil (anodized black or natural finish) is the most cost-effective high-purity aluminum solution for LED heat sink cooling, thermal management bases, cooling plates and extruded/forged heat dissipation components in high-power LED lighting, automotive lighting, stage lights, power supplies & electronics.
With purity ≥99.60%, 1060 delivers:
Highest thermal conductivity among common wrought aluminum alloys (~230–234 W/m·K)
Excellent anodizing response → uniform black or natural hard anodic film for enhanced radiation & corrosion protection
Superior flatness & machinability for CNC skiving, extrusion, forging or plate-based heat sinks
Lowest cost per kg in the 1xxx series while maintaining outstanding heat dissipation & long-term stability
Surface options:Natural anodized (15–25 μm AA15–AA20): clear/silver, high corrosion resistance,Black anodized (20–30 μm): high emissivity for radiative cooling, matte/black finish,Hardness: 350–450 HV (anodized layer),Warranty: 25–30 years corrosion resistance & thermal performance in lighting environments

Q1: Why choose 1060 over 6063 or 6061 for LED heat sinks?
A: 1060 has the highest thermal conductivity (~230–234 W/m·K) among common alloys, making it superior for pure heat spreading. 6063/6061 are extrudable but have lower conductivity (~170–200 W/m·K) and are more expensive for plate-based or skived-fin heat sinks.
Q2: What is the actual thermal conductivity & how does anodizing affect it?
A: ~230–234 W/m·K (uncoated). Black anodizing slightly reduces conductivity (~10–15%) but greatly increases radiative cooling (emissivity 0.8–0.9). Natural anodizing has minimal impact. We provide thermal conductivity test reports for each temper.
Q3: Can the sheet be CNC skived, machined or extruded for finned heat sinks?
A: Yes — 1060 has excellent machinability & formability. Ideal for skived-fin, CNC-milled or forged heat sinks. We supply machined & anodized samples showing surface finish & thermal performance.
Q4: Minimum order quantity & lead time for custom anodized black/natural?
A: MOQ 3–5 tons (depending on thickness/width); standard natural/black anodized 15–25 days; custom color/dye 25–35 days. Sample coils/sheets free with freight collect.
Q5: How does 1060 anodized perform in high-UV / outdoor LED lighting?
A: Excellent — anodized layer passes 3000–5000 h UV & salt-spray; no chalking or fading. Real Florida/Arizona outdoor exposure data available.
Q6: Is black anodized 1060 better for passive cooling than natural?
A: Yes — black anodizing increases emissivity (0.8–0.9 vs ~0.1–0.2 natural), improving radiative heat transfer by 20–40% in low-airflow environments. Ideal for high-power LED fixtures.
