Introduction                                                

The 1.2–3.0 mm 5052 powder coated aluminum sheet is the preferred marine-grade material worldwide for mid-to-heavy-duty industrial enclosures, electrical control cabinets, switchgear panels, outdoor distribution boxes, PLC cabinets, inverter housings and junction boxes exposed to humidity, salt, chemicals or mechanical abuse.

Compared to 3003/3105 (softer & lower strength) or 6061 (heat-treatable but more expensive & less corrosion-resistant in welded state), 5052 provides the optimal balance for demanding industrial enclosure applications:

Mg content 2.2–2.8% → best corrosion resistance among weldable 5xxx alloys

High yield strength → rigid panels with thinner gauges, better dent & vibration resistance
