Galvalume Steel (GL)
Galvalume steel is the plating coat of aluminum-zinc alloy armor plate, and its composition is 55% Al,43.3% Zn and 1.6% Si. The plate with smooth surface and excellent corrosion resistance of the atmosphere, which is 2 to 6 times higher than hot-dip galvanized sheet of the same thickness of coating. After through three processes, including payoff reel, crop shear and welding, enter into the continuous annealing furnace. During the annealing process, strips are heated closer to the recrystallizing temperature, and then heated to 20~50 above the recrystallizing temperature in the reducing furnace. After keeping the same temperature for 170s,strips are naturally cooled to the normal temperature in the slow cooling process. Afterward, strips enter into the ZN-AL pot through the elephant's trunk and begin in the hot-dip coating process. The optimum temperature range of the plating coat is 630-660ºC.Coated with aluminum-zinc alloy, strips enter into the cooling tower by the steady roll and air knife. After fast cooled with wind or water, they are directly produced into Al-Zn armor plates. The general rate of cooling 30s or so, and strips are cooled to about 60.

GL are 3~6 times more corrosion-resistant compared to GI, but has a similar level of processability and weldability and can replace GI, and in particular is most suitable when replacing GI that require thick galvanized layers and high corrosion resistance.
Only galvalume steel sheet that is used for roofing and walls without painting because of its unique silver spangles and beautiful appearance and high-corrosion resistance, and is used as a cool roofing material because of its excellent heat reflection qualities.
Can replace aluminum gilded steel sheets because for certain purposes of its eletrical conductivity and its heat-resistance qualities even at high temperatures that do not exceed 315ºC.
Has greater surface hardness than GIs, and is much more wear-resistant.
Corrosion resistance increased more with resin-coating treatment, which enables roll forming or press forming without the spraying of processed oils.
